Massage Therapy

All therapists at Massaje + Wellness are Registered Massage Therapists and are able to provide treatments that will help you with your injuries, post surgeries and more. Massage treatment includes a brief assessment to discuss symptoms, address areas of concern, medical history and possible causes/solutions to your aches and pains.

Why do I need to see an RMT ( Registered Massage Therapist) ?

Most individuals come to visit their RMTs to get a relaxing massage and recover from the everyday stress that they put in to their mind and body. Massage also helps people decrease tension on their muscles and heal faster from an injury. A monthly visit is recommended to maintain your health and well-being. Massage is not just for adults but it is for all ages. Our clinic offers therapy for your whole family.

What to expect on my visit?

On your first visit, expect to receive a health intake form that you need to fill out before your massage session. The purpose of this is for the therapist to prepare their treatment with you for example; if you have any allergies or you may have any disability so we know how we can prepare the room for your arrival or if you're pregnant so then we can setup the bed according to your condition. When you meet with your RMT for the first time they will do a quick 5 - 15mins assessment with you depending on the purpose of your massage session. The massage treatment will resume as soon as your RMT have assessed you and have a treatment plan on how they can better help you with your visit.

What are the types of massages being offered?

Our RMTs are capable of performing a Relaxing, Therapeutic or Deep Tissue Massage. The therapist have their own massage styles or techniques. If you're purpose for massage is for you to relax and have a calming session then the pressure that most RMTs will perform will be a light- medium pressure. If your goal is to decrease muscle tension then it will be a therapeutic or deep tissue massage, mind you this is not a relaxing session because we will have to re create that pain to get rid of those knots! The pressure that you will expect will be more medium - deep pressure. Now you can always let your therapist know if the pressure if it is not within your pain tolerance anymore. A good pain / or relieving pain is beneficial to your body but if you feel that it is uncomfortable then it is best to notify your therapist so you will have a satisfying massage session. Sports Massage ( medium-deep pressure )

Massage aims to help recover your body from the physical demand of your favorite hobby or activty. With the use of various massage techniques the massage is a bit more focus on preparing before and after a competition or training and/ or to treat from a sport injury.

Pre & Postnatal Massage ( modified pressure )

The approach for this massage is for reducing stress in the body and focus on clients concern. Most pregnant women will specifically have pain on low back, upper back, hip and also will contribute to decrease any swelling. After the baby arrives the aim for this massage is to release the tension on the mothers body just as important as the pre natal massage. This massage will increase relaxation, decrease swelling and fatigue to help mothers handle the demands of a newborn.

Relaxation Massage ( light-medium pressure )

is a Swedish massage focusing on decreasing stress, contributes to help people with depression and anxiety by calming the nervous system.

Therapeutic Massage ( medium-deep pressure )

Therapeutic massage is more focus on clients concerns or issues. The massage helps increase clients range of motion, blood circulation decreases myofascial restrictions, edema, sciatica, frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel, migraines, recover from an injury or surgery and more..

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue is a type of massage that engages deep to the musculature of the body. This massage aims to relieve irritating chronic muscle problems.

Hot Stone Massage ( light -deep pressure)

The use of heated Basalt stone helps increase circulation, melts away tension and reduces muscle stiffness. The warmth of basalt stone promotes for deeper relaxation.

Pediatric Massage ( light - medium pressure )

Pediatric massage helps our very active child decrease pain from their injuries during rough plays, sports and increase faster healing. Massage decreases stress levels emotionally and physically which then help boosts immune system function.

Aromatherapy Massage ( light- deep pressure )

Aroma from the essential oils promotes relaxation psychologically and helps nourish the skin with natural oils containing Vitamins E and K. **Please inform us ahead of your treatment if you have allergic reactions to any oils, lotion and/ or scents.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage ( light pressure )

Lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle technique massage to help drain toxins to our lymph nodes and increase movement of lymph fluids around the body.

This technique targets Lymphatic system which is then resides just beneath the skin. Lymphatic drainage is used if there are areas of the body that is congested as a result of surgery, infection, trauma, injury or diseases like cancer.

Infant Massage ( light pressure )

Infant massage helps our little ones reduce gas, colic and any intestinal difficulties. Infant massage can also aid in their healthy growth and development.
