Acupuncture & Tradition Chinese Medicine Practitioner
Fan Xiao is a Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. He graduated with honours specializing in chemistry from Western University. During his university years, he developed an interest in Eastern medicine after seeing one of his family members receiving acupuncture with amazing results. So right after his graduation he decided to move on to another path and finished his 4-year intensive training at Toronto School of Traditional Chinese Medicine which is equivalent to the Doctoral Degree program of Oriental Medicine in the United States.
He has done multiple internships before he started his career and volunteered at Dorothy Ley hospice for 14 months where acupuncture is utilized to help patients with terminal illness. Since he had intensive studies in Chemistry, he believes that the regular intake of medication is not the best way to stay healthy, but rather living a balanced life. He is dedicated to combine his background in science with oriental medicine and motivated to help others improve their quality of life. Fan is knowledgeable of many modalities of acupuncture such as traditional Chinese acupuncture points, tung’s points, channel palpitation by wang ju-yi, zhu’s scalp acupuncture, dry needling and cupping.
Fan pays a great amount of attention to the clients’ inquiries and makes sure he does his best to address their concerns. Over the years of practicing, he is very good at treating all kinds of stress related symptoms such as headache, insomnia and depression; women’s health issues such as irregular menstruation, infertility and last but not least, sports related injuries.
